NeĆ©:Slade  Born:1801  Died:1878

Anne Slade, born at the beginning of the century, married John Pye on 14 June 1835 at Whitchurch Canonicorum where he worked on Bluntsea farm. The 1841 Census shows they were still living at Whitchurch Canonicorum but by 1871 they are recorded in Netherbury, probably near Furleigh.

Ann who was six or seven years older than John died on 30 Apr 1878, when she was 78. Her death was registered in Beaminster and she was buried at St Mary's, Netherbury on 6 May 1878 where she was recorded in the Parish Register of Burials as Ann Pie a resident of Furley, Netherbury.

Although she and John did not have any children he went on to marry again and started a family with Flora Furzman. When he died 13 years later he was burried alongside Ann and his name was added to her headstone.
